My running is evolving in a slightly unexpected direction. 2 weeks ago, I through in a few sprints during the 2nd half of my run, and found that they used different muscles than my usual runs. Last week, I was having a crappy run, so I thought trying a few sprints might liven it up. And this week, I was running short on time, so I decided that I would concentrate mostly on sprinting.
So what happened to those long, slow, Sunday runs? I'm not sure, but they haven't been around for a few weeks, and maybe that's not such a bad thing.
And here's the kicker -- sprinting is fun! I may stick with this and see how it goes. I suspect that this kind of running will help my 5K times a lot more than long, slow runs.
